Available Schedules: 

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Opportunity for alternate schedule after the first 90-days:
  • 9-80 (nine-hour workdays with a three-day weekend every other week)
  • 4-10 (10-hour, four-day work week)
  • Teleworking up to 1 day per week

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
• Four (4) years of related engineering technical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, surveying, construction management, computer science, or specific area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for four (4) years of experience; or, 
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as those listed above.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of mathematical concepts and drafting techniques; state and local statutes, codes, and regulations; recordkeeping principles and practices; databases and filing systems. 
• Use of computer and other office equipment effectively and efficiently.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license by date of hire. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)). 
• Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment.
• Successful completion of a background investigation to the satisfaction of the City.

Desired Attributes: 

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
• Traffic Control Technician (TCT) and Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certifications
• Experience with traffic or transportation engineering design, operations, analysis, construction, and/or inspection
