The Overland Park Traffic Services Division in the Public Works Department is hiring a traffic engineer (a Civil Engineer I, II, or Senior). The Traffic Services team includes one City Traffic Engineer, two Supervisory Civil Engineers, three Civil (traffic) Engineers, five Traffic Engineering Technicians, and three Transportation Project Inspectors. Our work includes: Managing and reviewing consultant-designed projects for traffic signals, streetlights, signing, and other related traffic infrastructure;Preparing and reviewing in-house pavement marking plans for annual street resurfacing projects;Overseeing the construction of traffic infrastructure by contractors;Promoting and designing for active forms of transportation including walking, biking, rolling
