EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Coordinates the activities of assigned electric divisions, including administrative direction and oversight of personnel, budget, operations, and special projects. Works with Electric Director to develop programs and operational efficiencies. Analyzes current or potential utility operations and recommends courses of action to the Electric Director. Assists the Electric Director with strategic planning, including determining long and short-term needs of the utility and recommending programs and solutions. Assists in development of annual electric budget and Capital Improvements Plan. Provides both leadership and support during disasters or other emergencies following the Incident Command system. Appears before groups and organizations as a utility representative to explain activities, programs, and policies. Serves on management team during collective bargaining. Supervises and evaluates heads of assigned divisions. Manages day-to-day operations of the department, including the direct supervision of division heads. Assists Electric Director in selection of division heads. Performs other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of modern steam generating powerplants; considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of electrical or mechanical engineering; considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, materials, systems, and equipment used in the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy; knowledge of electrical utility organization and management; knowledge of all safety rules as are standard in the industry.
