MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Note to applicants:  This announcement is being posted at two (2) different classes:  Engineer Senior and Engineer Graduate 2.  The final job class will be determined based on applicants’ qualifications. 

Minimum Qualifications – Engineer Senior:

• Applicants must be licensed as a Professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.  (If obtaining licensure through reciprocity, a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)

Additionally, Engineer Senior resumes must demonstrate the following:

• Knowledge and experience in materials, road/bridge contract administration and general construction practices.
• Previous supervisory or leadwork experience of paraprofessional construction engineering work and skills sufficient to ensure construction projects are completed in a timely manner.
• Experience negotiating with contractors and writing change orders.

Minimum Qualifications – Engineer 2 Graduate:

• Bachelor of Science degree or Master’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university or its equivalency.
• Two years of post-graduate engineering experience.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.

Additionally, Engineer 2 Graduate resumes must demonstrate the following:

• Knowledge and experience in materials, road & bridge contract administration and general construction practices.
• Experience negotiating with contractors and drafting change orders.
