Battelle is seeking a Program Quality Manager in support of business and program operations in Boulder, CO.
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work with the Arctic Research Support and Logistics Services (ARSLS) Program. The Program Quality Manager (PQM), in conjunction with the Research Infrastructure Quality Manager, plans and implements the programmatic quality management system to ensure the highest quality of service is provided to Arctic researchers, local Arctic communities, the NSF, and other stakeholders. The Program Quality Manager conducts internal, field level, and supplier quality audits and performs trend analyses of customer and community feedback, seeking to optimize logistics support and responsiveness for the Program. The PQM consults with ARSLS Program and Portfolio Management to resolve quality, performance, and efficiency issues. This position champions a unified culture of quality across all ARSLS Program areas and teaming partners and operates within a matrixed management environment.
Establish and manage an ISO 9001:2015 compliant management system, including identification and development of program workflows and processes.
Develop a Programmatic Quality Management Plan and QC Plans for all program portfolio areas.
Assist the ARSLS Program Director and Science Project managers with development of surveys and collection and monitoring Customer Satisfaction and feedback.
Foster and sustain a continuous improvement culture across the program to include leading and/or participating in programmatic improvement initiatives.
Establish, maintain, and manage Nonconformity and Corrective Action process to respond to nonconformities to the ARSLS contract, program, or process requirements including customer complaints
Coordinate, facilitate, and review corrective actions and lead and/or participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions.
Assist the ARSLS Program Management Office with the development of quality objectives and performance metrics and conducting trend analyses.
Implement audits across the delivery of logistic services with focus to identify issues early and enable correction before research quality is impacted.
Conduct process monitoring and analysis to ensure effective operations.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams in a collaborative and proactive manner
Bachelor’s degree in ecology, environmental sciences or related scientific discipline, or technical.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an ISO 9001 or equivalent quality assurance program including experience managing a quality system
Experience conducting internal and supplier audits
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word
Excellent diplomatic, analytical, and communication skills – both verbal and written
Highly effective team-building, interpersonal skills, and communication skills with the ability to work across numerous teaming partners and engage with local communities
Affiliation or certification in a professional quality organization, i.e. Certified Quality Auditor, Registered Quality Assurance Professional in the Good Laboratory Practices, or other applicable areas.
