Will work under the supervision of a Project Scientist or Engineer
Perform moderately complex reporting and technical tasks within a broad work scope, and / or plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates project work for medium to large work scopes
Standard project assignments include conducting complex engineering, scientific assessment and analysis, and / or managing tasks or projects
Demonstrates competency in a combination of areas including field supervision, technical knowledge and task management
The position may entail approximately 80% office work and 20% field work on a variety of projects including industrial / commercial, State and Federal sites of environmental contamination
Maintains effective client relations
Skills and Qualifications
B.S. in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related technical field (M.S. Preferred)
Ideal candidate will possess 0 to 4 years of related experience
Previous OSHA training (40 - hour HAZWOPER) and hazardous waste handling experience is preferred, but not required. Candidate must be able to perform field work with exposure to a variety of climatic conditions and potential exposure to hazardous materials and wastes
Environmental project experience in multimedia site investigations and remediation
Knowledge of environmental regulations including CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, OSHA and State regulations
Experience with Geographic Information Systems and relational databases
Field team leadership ability
Demonstrated maturity in judgment, initiative, and client relations
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and proposals
Ability to travel 5% - 15% overnight outside of Connecticut
Must be able to pass a physical exam to obtain medical clearance for work on hazardous waste sites
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
