Airport Infrastructure Management at Denver International Airport (DEN) is seeking a talented Civil Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator to coordinate efforts to develop and further expand the Airport's airside and landside Civil Building Information Modeling (BIM) capability. This capability is a key foundational element of DEN's asset management initiative.
Airport Infrastructure Management is responsible for the establishment/maintenance of BIM data and systems. Other internal DEN organizations that will use and update data include: Airport Infrastructure Management's Design and Construction functions for the management of architectural and engineering data on facilities/systems and maintaining accurate and up-to-date building documentation; Airport GIS for maintaining airport mapping systems and meeting FAA requirements; Airport Operations in keeping the airport operational and safe; and Commercial Division. for lease/space management, revenue generation tracking
DEN is currently focused on creating/maintaining BIM data/services and enhancing integration of business systems with BIM and GIS (Geographic Information System) and Maximo (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to better serve our customers.
The successful candidate will collaborate with and support various Divisions across the DEN organization to define BIM business needs, to improve business processes and asset management; and to work with construction project managers to ensure BIM and Asset Management requirements are identified and supported throughout the facility's life-cycle.
Consulting with users, management, vendors and other BIM and Asset Management staff to determine needs and system requirements.
Assisting with coordinating and reviewing airside and landside Civil BIM plans and maintaining standards compliance for internal and external customers.
Assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Civil BIM and GIS programs.
Coordinating the installation and testing of the applications programmed and writing documentation that describes the operating procedures for using them.
Developing, maintaining and executing quality control/assurance programs.
Providing (or supplementing) BIM training activities and providing technical support to BIM users.
Coordinating the acquisition of new spatial data and supervising the integration of these into the organization's BIM and GIS programs.
Performing analysis and creating information products from the BIM and related software and subsystems.
Coordinating efforts with various agencies to:
Maintain Airport BIM program and data through the use of technology to insure the quality and accuracy of this DEN asset.
Coordinate BIM development projects and related processes to insure DIA receives project data from design and construction managers which complies with DIA BIM standards.
Contribute to the expansion of BIM applications and use for the Operations, Commercial, and Maintenance Divisions.
Further refine and monitor criteria and processes (including Quality Control/Quality Assurance) and related educational programs to assure data collection and updating are performed by consultants, contractors and DIA project management staff.
Liaise with the Technology Division to assure adequate network and support capabilities are provided.
Communicate status of initiatives and to promote BIM program.
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Engineering or a directly related field.
Three years of experience completing complex, multi-disciplinary Civil BIM projects
Licensed Civil Engineer
Expertise with the following software tools: Autodesk Civil 3D
Optional SharePoint as a project management and collaboration tool.
Optional ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Revit or related Engineering and GIS applications.
Experience in development and implementation of policies relating to BIM and managing policy change within large organizations.
Project coordination experience within large organizations and multiple stakeholders.
Additional appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for the minimum education requirement on a one year for one year basis.
