The Project Engineer is responsible for providing professional engineering support for bus capital design and construction projects, such as bus facilities, stops, transit centers and park-and-rides. Typical duties include:
Preparing and reviewing engineering designs
Coordinating engineering and construction work performed by consultants/contractors
Coordinating field inspections
Preparing cost estimates, monitoring the budget and schedules for assigned projects
Participation in planning studies
Performing traffic engineering studies and analysis
Conducting research, evaluating alternative solutions and providing recommendations
Coordination with communities and other agencies
Attendance at technical committee meetings
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering, or related field. A Professional Engineering License is preferred. Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties.
Experience: At least 4 years' experience in progressive responsibility for projects in design and/or construction. AutoCAD experience.
Requires knowledge of transit operations, civil engineering theory and principles, contracting procedures, Federal and State regulations affecting public transportation.
Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Florida Driver's License.
