VDOT’s Lynchburg traffic Engineering section has a Senior Engineer vacancy to fill. This position will report directly to the District Traffic Engineer. Successful candidate(s) will be the responsible charge engineer for overall project management to include planning, organizing, monitoring and directing work activities and resources necessary to deliver assigned projects to advertisement.. This position will serve as the project manager for Traffic Engineering and Maintenance no-plan type projects. This position will coordinate and collaborate with other district sections residencies, consultants and other stakeholders as needed during the project development phase and perform required project management updates, and activities necessary to meet targeted performance objectives. Position will represent and coordinate Project Sponsor’s interests and desired outcomes through the project development process, ensuring that project milestones are met, meetings coordinated and information will be readily available to the project team. Additional positions may be filled from this applicant pool within 90 days of the closing date.
